FOREVER MAGIC

Storyline

The modern world… filled with science and fact… filled with people who’ve lost the ability to ‘believe’ in anything but what they can see, feel, touch… Many have turned their backs on the various deities even… but it’s all about to change… drastically.

The world is about to learn that magic is real… all of it… wizards, witches, dragons, unicorns, werewolves, vampires… all of it… very much REAL. A whole world of magic hiding under the noses of the normal human population… For so long it has hidden, almost becoming second nature to the gifted ones only for it to all come crashing down…

Chimere Melanchthon is a dark sorcerer who just adores chaos. He’s finally decided that it’s time to cause the ULTIMATE chaos… He uses his powers to actually appear during a US Presidential announcement and reveals to the entire world… That magic does exist… proving it by using his magic in front of everyone there and everyone watching… He kills the president by summoning a dark wyvern who attacks and devours the man before Chimere disappears just as people begin to get hysterical.

Most magical beings either hide in places humans can’t get to… or hide among the humans… some as humans… some as animals… many unicorns hide themselves as normal horses… some as human as well. It’s almost impossible to tell the difference between a normal human and a magical being though some have interesting straights that follow them through their transformations… their eyes for example, which are usually hidden with contacts.
Now the government, military, bounty hunters and just the general public are attempting to hunt down these magical individuals. Some want to kill them… some want to hurt them… some want to experiment on them… and some want to use them. Though even still… there is a minor few… who want to help them.

All these magical beings, animals and humanoids, must now do everything in their power to keep hidden… or try to convince the world that they’re not evil… at least not all of them. And they must do this before it’s too late… and they’re all hunted and wiped out or turned into labrats… or worse.

Story Setting

The story generally revolves around Washington, DC where the incident originally happened. Though few know it, many magical beings have been drawn by fate to this city in the last few years. Washington High is the school that many of the younger characters will be attending. The world of magic has been hiding itself for over 2000 years. Any other specific places can be made along the way.

If a character seems to perfect you will not be accepted. Metagaming is also not acceptable. Metagaming is using info that you know OOC but don’t know IC.

If you are absent for a long period of time without me being notified I reserve the right to roleplay your character for the purpose of removing them from the roleplay without affecting the story by having a character sudden just ‘not exist’. The character will likely be captured by the government and put into stasis or just drugged up to the point where they cannot contact anyone. Should you return we can work out how to free your character. A long period of time is likely about a week or more. Depending on where your character is. If your character is really holding up the rp a week will likely be about the limit for you before I take over.

Questions And Answers

Does my character have to know they’re magical?
- No… they don’t have to know but you need to have a good reason for them not knowing. For example… one or both of their parents are magical beings and never told them feeling they were safer if they didn’t know the truth. Your character’s an orphan or adopted or in general doesn’t have anyone in their life that can tell them who or what they are. Or perhaps memory loss.

Does my character HAVE to by magical?
- No… if you want to play an ordinary human having to deal with the consequences of what’s been revealed to them then feel free to. Variety is always nice.

Can my character be the same as this person’s character?
- Not unless the person is something like a mage or whatnot. We don’t want two of more of every type of magical creature. We want lots of variety. Only one of each creature and if you can find a way to make your humanoid different then other magical humanoids then go for it… examples are – sorcerers, mages, druids, elves, necromancers, seers etc.

Can I play a badguy?
- Well of course you can. If you think you can handle being a baddy then have at it! You can be someone from the military, the government, bounty hunter, just a general magic hater, or a magical evil being or monster. Use your imagination and just have fun.

Do I have to use real life images?
- No, in fact it may be very difficult to find pictures for your characters in real life pictures. Especially if you want your human form to have at least a slight resemblance to your magical form. Feel free to use what you feel is best, anime, cartoon, real life, artwork. Whatever works for you.

I’m having trouble making my character, what do I do?
- Ask for help. We don’t bite… feel free to ask us for help or tips or whatever you might need. You can ask Chaoticangelkitten, KyuuTsume, or Sierra4.

He sometimes confuses people with the way he talks when he’s in dragon form but he really is very wise, even if he is a bit criptic at times. Another weakness is that he cares much more for the safety of others then for himself. He will put himself in harms way to save another person if he deems that person worthy enough of his help… which is most of the time unless the person is extremely evil. He is good at seeing into a person’s soul and knowing whether or not they can be trusted even if they themselves might not know it.

He loves life in general from the smallest flower to the tallest tree… from the smallest ant to the biggest whale in the world. All life is precious to him and if he has a choice he will not harm it. He lives for the peaceful moments of life where he can just relax and enjoy the sounds of nature, the feeling of the wind blowing over him and the beauty of a clear blue sky.

* Personality\\ Ryou seems very quiet and shy. He acts like your common antisocial teen, not emo but nervous to make new friends. He’s very friendly once he gets to know a person, however, and will open up to them just a bit so they can see the generous, sweet individual he really is.
* Appears to be\\ A somewhat small teenager for his age with white hair down to just above his shoulders with pale blue eyes. He had a strange red scar over one eye. It’s very straight going from his brown right down to the top of his cheekbone. He’s also rather skinny though not anorexic skinny.
* History\\ Ryou was born a very long time ago and lived a fairly normal dragon existence until the time when humans began to get far too untrusting of magical beings and began to hunt and try to kill them. As most magical beings are rather peaceful many did not fight back as well as they could and many were killed. That is when they decided to go into hiding, waiting and biding their time till they believed humans ready for their return… If that were ever to happen. He began living as various creatures, an albino snake, a white tiger, a dove… eventually he decided it was time to attempt to mingle with human kind… see what they’ve learned. He took the form of a teenage human and, using his powers, created a whole human life for himself, all faked, but it worked well enough for him. He got himself a house and eventually got himself into school, the best place to learn about humans he believed. Having strange colored hair and a very strange tattoo other students picked on him but he never fought back. He was here to learn… not to teach the humans lessons. All he really wants is to be able to live among humans and his own kind without having to hide. He wants peace… but peace without lies.

* Personality\\ He’s actually very kind, caring and wise. He may be a dragon but he is actually very peaceful, gentle and calm. He is very protective of those he cares about and those he believes need help. He hates war and injustice and will do what he can to try and stop such things without revealing his secret though if worse comes to worse… he will reveal his secret if he feels it’s needed in order to save a life. He can and will get violent if he feels the need, especially when someone he cares about is in danger.

* True Appearance\\ A large white serpent like dragon with small arms close to his head and then quite a ways back on his long slithering body. His body is covered with soft white fur except for his stomach which has large scales. Atop his back is a large tuff of fur going from the top of his head all the way to the tip of his tail. He also has large tuffs of fur on the sides of his head making it almost look like they’re ears though his ears are like a serpents, small holes at the sides of his head, hidden by the tuffs of fur. His eyes are the same pale blue and he has the ability to shift his size though usually, when curled up, he is about the size of a house.
* Possible Other Forms\\ He also takes the form of an adult elf with long flowing white hair, tied up in a mid ponytail. He’s often seen with silver and grey elven armor and a forest green cloak, a sword of silver and gold in a sheath on his back. This is a form he uses as a sort of humanoid magical being form as it is less threatening then a dragon, but keeps his chosen human form a secret.

Personality\\ Chimere has a dark heart, caring about few things in the world other then power, money and strength. His child is one of his most prized posessions, however, and he does love her very much. He wishes to train her and teach her to be just like him. He sees her as his legacy. He is a coniving lier and loves to cause havoc. He loves to watch the ‘weak’ scramble when things go wrong… loves to watch the strong rise… including the false strong whom he enjoys taking down.

True Appearance\\ A drow man with long hair to his mid-back, tied up in a high ponytail. His skin is a bluish color and his eyes a deep blood-red. He’s often seen in black and dark blue drow armor with a dark bluish black cloak, sometimes hooded.

Weaknesses and Strengths\\ Shasa is a Grimalkin, Grimalkins are shapeshifting creatures who can change their forms at will, often to amuse or protect their masters. Shasa is still fairly young and can only shapeshift into medium sized creatures. Nothing hude like an elephant or a dragon or anything like that. She can’t get much large then a linx so tigers, bears, and other large animals are out of the question for her at the moment though she can learn to shift into larger animals… she just hasn’t had the need to work on that. Other then being able to shift form she has no other magic. She also has a keen sense and can often tell when someone is dangerous or ‘evil’ even… but not always.

She isn’t very fond of creatures that are bigger then her, other then her master of course and individual animals she’s come to know well. She isn’t fond of water and rarely takes the form of something that swims.

History\\ Shasa was found injured and weak by Ryouma back a little over one thousand seven hundred years ago. He took her in and cared for her and she has been his constant companion ever since.

* Personality\\ Catcher’s co.cky. He doesn’t show the hurt he faces everyday of not knowing who he is. He was given the name of Catcher by a friend who told him about what he is. Educated him in the “mythological” creatures field, this happened when he was six.Really six, not in looks, So it was long ago. It was also long ago that he gave up the search for his parents. He never knew his parents. He doesn’t know of any family he may have. Now, giving up on the search for any relatives he may have is not the same as giving in to not knowing his true identity, which is his ultimate goal. But he’s strong. Strong willed, strong headed, whatever you want to call it. Some say it’s bravery. He has to have courage to be who he is. Despite his mysterious back round he’s funny, whether it’s making fun of someone in good nature, or bad. I tend to write whatever is on my mind, so my music can be quite private. If you get to see a piece, consider yourself lucky! Physically, I’m quick and nimble, that’s how I got my name, because of my speed. I’m excellent with a bow and arrow, (old fashioned yes, but keep in mind I’m reaching my 400th year.) and whether it be with guns, arrows, or a blade my aim is precise.

What the average human might see? It is a question not worth answering, I’ll humor you. If you were o see me, highly doubtful; you would see a girl articulate and ready to bite someone’s head off. I look like I will follow in his footsteps, never missing a beat.

I will not lie to you; my family comes from long line of evil legends. I am not putting a mask over my past relatives; though I am not proud of their goal in achieving success, I am proud my family is feared by all others like us. I am not as sinister as you may hope, as my father my wish (he says I have my mother’s heart.) Do not be surprised when a defile thought erupts from my mouth though, if you lived where I do, you would get used to simply saying Off with Your Head on a daily basis also. I suppose a normal, ignorant no-fin would see me as a normal teenage girl: head-strong, flighty, independant (or longing to be so), trapped, etc. Thus I am, except for the normal part. I am not normal, but they wouldn’t be able to see that. There is much, much more to me than those four words I have listed, but I have said that no-fins are ignorant. They do not want to spend the time to get to know anyone they don’t have to, and so they would not get a chance to glimpse the pearl nestled safe within my clam of a shell.

Weaknesses. Yes, even goddesses have them.\\
Like any offspring of gods, I don’t like to admit I have them. However, I lock my doors against arrogance, and will therefore enlighten you. The enchantment placed upon me to make me appear as a no-fin is not very strong. What?! I’m working on it, but I’m only seventeen! If water touches me, even one drop of salt or fresh water, I have fifteen minutes to hide. Fifteen minutes to get away from prying eyes, before they see me for who I really am. Mind you, I still have my water-controlling powers while the enchantment is concealing my true identity, they just aren’t as strong. Yes, this could be a major flaw if I need to use them on land. But don’t worry, I’m working on that, too. I have stated before that I am head-strong. This is a weakness in my book. I also hold a soft spot in my heart for the creatures of the sea, especially dolphins (killer whales are dolphins). If I see one of my fellow sea dwellers in need, I simply must help them. There’s no stopping me, even if my life will be in danger by doing so. Yes, there are many more, but I can see I’m beginning to bore you, so you’ll just have to get to know me to see the rest.

I would consider my powers to be my greatest strengths. I might have inherited them from my father, but I prefer to think they come with the tail. I can control water and all aspects of it. I can make it move, boil, freeze, turn choppy or calm, etc. The one thing I can’t do is turn it from salty to fresh, or vice versa. I can also speak to the inhabitants of the sea. All of them. I have a particularly strong connection with dolphins. Hmm… what else…? Oh yes. I have this “thing” that I must’ve developed from being around father’s fourth ‘wife’ so much. It’s my Siren’s song. I’m sure you’ve heard of what Siren’s are and do. No, I am not a Siren, and no, I don’t use my song in that way. I’ve actually only used it once, but stopped before any real damage could be done. Oh, you’re yawning again. Alright, I’ll stop for now, and you can figure out all the rest on your own.

I believe it’s quite obvious that I like the ocean and everything in it. I like dolphins and I like watching the water turn crimson as the sun says goodnight. I like imitating my mother and sisters, I like messing with fisherman who invade my home, and I like singing. I guess I like Medusa, since she taught me my Siren’s song. I like visiting Delphin, and anything to do with Delphin. Did I just say that out loud? You let slip that I said that, and you won’t have a mouth to tattle with. What’s that you say? And even when I was born, I stood in the shadow of Triton, my good-at-everything older brother. He did not miss a chance to rub it in, either. Then there were my sisters and all of their mothers. I hated them for their arrogance, their snooty attitudes, their unfair beauty. I guess I’m beautiful, but nobody can compare to their perfect, yes perfect, appearances. I don’t mean to whine. It was early morning, and as always Ryouma had the TV on as he was having his breakfast and getting ready for school. He always had it on the news as he liked to keep updated on what was going on around the human world…

They were currently doing a story on some announcement that the president was making. Sudden screams reached his ears and he turned from his plate of eggs and bacon to the living-room. He grabbed his slice of toast and moved towards the living-room, munching on the toast before his eyes go wide at what he sees.

A strange looking man was standing next to a very shocked and frightened looking president. Several bodyguards and police had their weapons drawn on the figure. The man was wearing a strange cloak, one Ryouma would recognize as something that wizards in the olden days use to wear and he assumed the man had likely teleported there as there would have been gunshots if he’d attempted to walk up there. The man’s eyes growled red and his skin, even shadowed by the hood, was clearly not an ordinary color.

The man smirked, looking to the president as he spoke loudly, “For too long you mortals have wandered this land, foolishly naive and oblivious to everything around you… You have been ‘babied’ for far too long… We should not have to HIDE and COWER from creatures so far beneath us… You are weak… pathetic creatures… we will no longer hide in the shadows… we who have lived many of your lives… we who know more about this world then all of you combined… we will not hide… we will not cower… we will not lower ourselves to pretending to be such weak worthless creatures any longer… we are the powerful ones… the creatures and beings of old… those who walk the path of magic…”

His laugh was also unusual, volatile, but not exactly loud. “Safire! Stop, not yet I say.” His massive light brown face rubs tenderly unto the woman’s smiling cheek like a housecat might do if… taller? “Now stop that! You’ll rat up my main Safi! Patience is a skill you obviously have not taken part in.” The woman giggles, pushing the powerful body of the lion with ease. Her soft hand moves to stroke his magnificent main, but punches the muscular shoulder instead.

“Stop! If I want to look I can Kota, It’s just television, you have never limited me on that before.” The woman was sat down on a black upholstered sofa, her light brown hair falling loosely over her shoulders. Around the age of twenty, she was a beautiful face in the dark room, as if the two companions’ joy was a small light in the wicked evil fog of the home. The lion speaks again, his tone playful; but with a hidden desire to crush the small television in half. “La-kota Safi, not Kota, I like my name the way it is thank you. I just honestly think it would be better if you did not discover your fathers latest act. Understood?”

“Sure, sure. Just give me the remote; because I do not care what would be better, I care for what might come to or doorstep any day now. Do you really think we an find one of his deeds on news though? I know sometimes he hides it, some natural disaster or whatever, but still.” Dexterously she grabs the remote from behind her beast and turns on the channel. The lion give up protest, clambering onto the couch and laying his gigantic frame next to hers, his head resting on her lap. Safire has to push through his thick brown main to see the screen.

The only thing Safire can do is stare at the screen as a new worry dawns on her. Her father was now wanted by everyone, everyone wanted to kill him. She just knew it… The guns pointed his way… they were not going to effect him, but they sent her trembling, clinging onto Lakota’s main rather tightly. The lion upon witnessing this closes his deep yellow eyes supposing there would be much more to come.

A huge yawn came over Catcher as he lifted his head, blinking in the harsh yellow glow of the lights around him. Where was he? The room was near silent but the clanking of dishes, and the hum of the television. Forcing himself to fully awaken, the boy pushed himself up, and found he was in a booth of a bar. Really? He had fallen asleep at a bar? Passed out drunk was more likely. He had no recollection of the previous night, and his head throbbed painfully. He wiped his hand over his face to draw it away, and see dried blood there. Ah, bar fight. How interesting. He grabbed a napkin, wiping the red from his face and hands. Realizing that this was a bar, filled with people like him he checked his pockets. Good, his wallet had not budged from it’s place his his dark blue jeans. Slowly he sat up straighter, fixing his black shirt and shrugging his torn leather jacket around himself more snugly.

Catcher began to take in his surroundings in full. There across that room was another man slumped in a booth, and at the counter, allocating the glasses, was the bar tender. The sound of screams rang in his ears and he rubbed at them, man he had a hang over. Nevertheless the sound did not subside. Rather dazed, and perplexed, Catcher ran his hand through his light brown hair that stuck out in various directions, and located the sound of the screams.

The television? Scrutinizing the picture he was seeing, Catcher was baffled. Was this a dream? What did that guy think he was doing? Reveling their kind… to the humans! Taking them from their mundane world and ignorance. Although… Catcher couldn’t help but agree with some of what the strange cloaked man was saying. They were the greater kind were they not? Why did they have to hide? Now, he didn’t think the whole enslaved the human race thing would be right but why couldn’t they reveal themselves, and live in what ever form or forms they wanted? The mortals were always making movies about it. In truth Catcher quite enjoyed their ideas of a griffin, or warlock. The humans seemed to enjoy them as well, so why would they not want to have a world that was exactly, or quite close to the ones they created on the big screen?

The half creature sat up sharply, making his head sear with pain. He would get over his hang over quicker than a human, thanks to a griffins natural swift healing abilities. Small wounds, that were inflicted by mortal objects or weapons would heal about three times as swiftly as a human. But he wasn’t thinking of this. He was watching the interesting but horrific scene as the humans attempted to take down the strange hooded man. This would not end well for anyone.

Let the Storm begin.

That song was on the radio when a brunette girl passed the television shop, but there was a disturbance in the area the girl was in, a man sauntered up to her slowly as she watched the song’s lovely clip as she sat down by a store. The man thumped his fist onto the table she was at and it startled the girl, she threw a hand on her chest and flinched, people these days were so rude!

“You owe me an apology, woman!” the man started, his furious eyes locked onto her face, but they scanned the rest of her body in no time; ‘checking her out’ you could say. It made the girl very uncomfortable and Chase came to the point of almost shifting out of shock, but she held it back well.

“Why do I owe such an ugly human? What have I done, oh I’m sorry for looking at your disgusting face.” Chase chucked as the man growled, Chase simply walked off, to be followed by the aging adult closely. “Stalker, back off or you’d regret it.” Chasidhe threatened, but she didn’t turn around, she just flicked her hair off her shoulders and continued on. But the man didn’t stop following her, and Chase was forced to run, she was a great runner. A long distance racer. Chase was the winner back in the day, popular because of her fast feet, and she found herself in a alley. Perfect, it’s what she was looking for.

The girl quickly shifted into her phoenix form. The mixture of bright, colourful colours shimmered in the sunlight as she spread her massive wings, the wingspan was very large, around 4 metres of length, and she was beautiful. Chase wasn’t in her firey form, but rather her original, normal phoenix form. Just as beauiful.

In no time the creature took flight just as the man entered the alley. The old confused man scratched his head with his jaw dropped as he watched the hot-coloured bird take flight into the sky, his eyes widened as he searched the area, to find the girl was missing.

What a pity, Chase missed her song.

The sound of the static was the first thing that washed over the numbered senses that were possessing Rush as she slowly started to wake up. She groaned and rolled over temporarily forgetting she had fallen asleep on her couch the night before. She remembered she had just as she hit the ground. She sat up and blinked sleepily staring at the TV.

She quickly grabbed her remote and flipped through the channels until just turning on the news. She frowned at the report that was going on suddenly confused at what she was seeing. She had truly thought she had hit her head harder than before as she jumped to her feet and stared at the screen. She frowned at the little stand off and then the strange man giving the even stranger speech even if she knew for a fact what he was saying was true. She did not share the same views in some places but in others, that was a completely different story.

She shook her head and shut off the Television turning and walking into her room without a second thought to what had been said. She started to get ready quietly not paying any mind to what she had seen, even if it was probably something she should have cared about. After she got changed and ready she went into the kitchen for something to fill up her empty stomach. As she rummaged through the cabinets she flipped on the radio trying to wash away the sense of unease that had settled over her at the first sign of the strange man.

Mai escaped from her family as quickly as possible. She was already late, and it killed her to keep Delphin waiting. Her tail pumped up and down as quickly as it could, shooting her through the greenish depths. Mai weaved through back alleys, nothing but a flash of green and blonde, leaving only a trail of bubbles in her wake. The mermaid continued swimming at top-speed through the city At last, she reached the edge of the city, and began her ascent. The water grew gradually less dense, gradually the pressure was relieved. The upward climb was always the hardest part of the journey to their rendezvous point. It was like running uphill after sprinting five miles. Finally, Mai’s head broke the surface and she switched to her lungs, wrinkling her nose at the strange above-water scents. Mai scanned the choppy waves for Delphin. There, in the distance, she spotted his muscular bronze shoulders. She swam rapidly towards him, alternating between above water and below. Gills to lungs, gills to lungs. It’d be much easier just to choose one, but her father was in a bad mood, and the water reflected it. The waves were choppy and unforgiving, sometimes pushing her up, others shoving her under. It seemed to take an ice age, but Mai finally reached Delphin. She coughed and sputtered for a moment, clearing her lungs of the salty water before speaking.
“Delphin… You… Won’t… Believe… What… My… Butt-head of a brother… Heard…” she spluttered.

Ryouma blinked and moved to sit on the couch, a beautiful Russian blue cat hopping up onto the top of the couch and walking across it to sit by the others head, watching the screen as well. Ryou felt like his whole world was crashing down…

The cat let out a bit of a growl as she nuzzled her master, a gentle voice piercing into his thoughts, ‘this isn’t good… Foul dark sorcerer… If I could I would go there right now and strike him down.’

Meanwhile, Chimere lifted an eyebrow as all the soldiers readied their weapons. He chuckled and smirked turning to step towards the cowering president and they all fired. He brought both hands up quickly, uttering out some strange word and the bullets seemed to hit some invisible barrier before dropping harmlessly to the ground, “come now… did you really think that was going to work… Foolish mortals…”

With that said he brought his hands up again, eyes seeming to glow a brighter red as he let out a loud chant, “Kra graakis kar tekir skirkash tir stertriss. Kra zirnar kar gorn graashi ruzis zkirtnarav shra gernovlak,” It was from an ancient dragonic type language and meant, “I summon three great wyvern of legends. I ask thee to come and punish my enemies.”

The television blares off. It was too much to deal with. Safire throws the remote against the wall, as if the little rectangular box was the cause of her sorrow… the cause of her tear-filled eyes, and the cause for the ominous feeling that something much worse was upon them all. There was only one thing to do. Find something to do. “Safi?” It took her a moment to register the kind voice from all the evil cloudy ones fogging her mind with negativity. “What?” is all she can croak out.

The lion sighs; even his sigh was powerful, bouncing the couch. “Could you… please; let go of my mane before you tear my hair out of the burning scalp of my dear head? If it is not too much trouble?” He was always trying to lighten the mood. Safire yanks hard on the handful of light brown rough hair before releasing her beast. Her slender hands push his head away so she can grumpily get off the couch and walk out of the room, into the kitchen, and out the back door.

The little quaint house was located by a small wandering stream; trees covered the grounds and shielded the sky (and light) as far as e eye could see. Beautiful flowers and shrubs lined every deer path out there. As a child, Safire would run through the woods making a trail of yellow flowers follow behind her footfalls, pretending a handsome Hansel held her little hand as they rushed into the danger and adventure of the wicked witch and her gingerbread house. She had longed for a playmate; but received an adult guardian instead. Not that she didn’t love Lakota, just that is wasn’t the same? She drifts to the stream trickling and cracking with the joyful movement of the icy waters. She dips her bare toes into the frigid but calming tiny rapids as a rose blooms at her fingertips. “Father, please come home soon.”

“Ah, so the great beast awakens.” said a voice. Catcher froze in horror, believing someone had established that he was most certainly not human. To his great relief, it was only the bar tender, giving him a humorous look, that he absolutely would not have been wearing if he found out Catcher was a “mythological” creature. He must have been referring to the previous night. However, the grin was wiped clean off his mug as he too, directed his attention to the screen.

The two of the men watched, one in pure abhorrence and awe, the other in fascination, and quite possibly satisfaction. Although he wasn’t entirely fond of his fashion sense, style, or ancient way of speaking, he was mildly impressed with the way he conducted things. It couldn’t have been easy to concentrate, but he was going along just fine with whatever he was saying -some sort of spell – although Catcher was suspicious that the man… wizard thing, had planned this out quite elaborately.

The griffin forced himself to his feet. He tried not to sway from nausea and dizziness. He now wished he had gone home last night, instead of remaining in this place. Catcher felt horrendous, and just wanted to fall back onto the booth seat again. No, I have to move on. He thought sternly to himself. He asked the man at the bar for water, which he downed in slow sips, lingering to watch the t.v. Thrilled and tempted by the terribly horrid display.

Seeing Catcher’s some-what amused face the bar tender gave him a glare. One of the proud-to-be-an-American types? Disgusting. Catch was an American, he was pretty sure he was born, and certainly “raised” in his current place of residence, New York. Manhattan to be exact. but being so ancient he had traveled the world, and found that Australia was most definitely his preference when it came to location. The bustling streets and bars could get old, fast, and he often traveled to get away. But now dear old President was in trouble wasn’t he? Catcher thought, a grin spreading on his face that he attempted to conceal. He couldn’t leave his country in it’s time of need! Catcher was laughing by the time he roamed away from the counter, out the door.

Joy - “Technology. That is the true root of all evil, or at least, I’m convinced it is.” A girl who looked to be about twenty years of age spoke, as she brushed a stallion in a stall of a stable. The stable smelled of hay, crisp and true, without the rank scent of manure, the smell being surprisingly fresh. Although the stable was large, it only housed two horses. One, being the stallion this girl now brushed, and the other being the horse of her closest neighbor who lived a few miles away. This girl was the owner of the only stable for miles around, and it was clear why, for you just didn’t find horses anywhere anymore. The girl sighed, looking over to a television on a bar stool across the way near a different stall. “Remind me why we got that installed in here?” She turned her attention to the television, and her grin faded as she saw what was happening. She took a step towards the television, as if she had not seen what was going on correctly, leaving the gate of the stall open without a thought. She watched in silence, her fists opening and closing at her sides as a nervous habit.

The girl’s silver hair cascaded down her shoulders in what looked like a waterfall of melted quarters, falling to the small of her back. It was as straight as a nail, with neither a frizz nor fray. Her nearly transparent, yet oddly dark eyes were intensely staring at the screen. ”What?” She barely whispered, watching. ”It can’t be…” Her hands opened and closed, opened and closed. She watched in silence now, as her horse walked to her side, also seeming to watch the television. Slowly, a grey color came to her fingers, starting at the tips, and crawling slowly up to her knuckles, up to her palm….

Kra graakis kar tekir The television sounded. ”No.” The girl stated, the grey moving up to her wrists now. skirkash tir stertriss. “No!” She shouted, her hair suddenly frizzing slightly, forming a slight curl. Kra zirnar kar gorn graashi “Tenebrae! He is doing it! We have to stop him somehow! He is summoning the-“ ruzis zkirtnarav shra gernovlak! “no!” She cut herself off. Her horse nudged her, and she glared at the animal.

A deep, haunting voice emerged from the creature. “Viviaranio. You musn’t do this to yourself. You are putting yourself in danger, for this is not your business.” The girl fumed. “What do you mean it is not my business?” The color was completely gone from her hands now, and her hair flattened. She was back to normal. “It is completely my business! That is my president! And that sorcerer is about to commit the most agonizing kind of murder that possibly exists! And you say I am just supposed to stand here and do nothing!?” The horse threw its head back in irritation. “Ah!” The creature exclaimed. “You are so irritable as a human! Vivian Ells, you need to learn to control yourself!” The girl threw her hands in the air. “Me? You are the talking horse yelling at its master “Tanatar Ollie”.” She lifted her fingers to put air quotes around the name. “Hey!” The horse called. “When in my other form, I am just as powerful as you are, Viv.” Vivian scowled, and pointed at the open stall. “Go.” She growled, and the horse just shook his head, walking into it.

Vivian Shut the gate, and turned her attention to the television again. She so wanted to just teleport right there, right now, and stop the madness, but she knew that would only get her killed, or worse. For now, she just watched, feeling frozen and unable to turn it off.

“What in the sea do we do?!” Mai cried, half trying to be heard above the waves, half in desperation and panic.
“Shh… Calm down,” Delphin said soothingly, but it was like saying, “Don’t worry, it’s just a little spider.” when you’re about to be eaten by a six-foot tarantula.
“Calm down? Calm down?! Easy for you to say! You don’t have any powers!” the words just rushed out of Mai’s mouth. Why couldn’t she think before she spoke? Delphin was hurt, she could see it in his eyes.
“You’re right. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t affect me. I’m not exactly normal,” Delphin spoke softly, and Mai had to lean forward to hear him. She couldn’t help but look down at their tails. No, they weren’t normal. All their lives, they’d had to hide from humans, conceal their true identity. They didn’t have to do that anymore. Wasn’t that a good thing?

Rush sighed and turned off the radio again. She went back into the living room and turned the Television back on in thought. Ryou covered his mouth as Chimere began the summoning spell. He saw the creature appear and looked away from the screen, cringing when he heard the scream of the president, mingling with the screams of all the people witness to this horrid act. He wanted to do something… but what could he do? If he showed up there he would be attacked… they would fear him… It was something he dreadfully hated… he didn’t want to be feared… he didn’t want anyone to be afraid of him.

Shasa’s ears drooped a bit, her own eyes not leaving the screen, “there has to be something we can do Ryou… we can’t just allow him to do this…” she let out, looking to the other, “we have to go there… please…”

Ryou sighed and looked to the cat, giving her a nod before standing, taking a deep breath and heading towards the door. He slipped on his shoes, Shasa running up and jumping onto his shoulder as Ryou opened the door and stepped out, locking it behind him before heading off towards the chaos.

Unfortunately… he wouldn’t make it in time. The damage had been done. The wyvern soon lifted it’s head, an ear piercing screech escaping the creature’s large fanged mouth, people screaming louder as blood dripped from the creature’s muzzle. It had killed the president… devoured a large chunk of him… It was a horrid sight… a sight that would be ingrained in so many minds for quite some time to come…

It seemed like the boat materialized out of thin air, crashing straight towards them through the tempest-tossed sea. Delphin grabbed Mai’s hand and pulled her down. There was no time to switch to her lungs, and she had to do with what little air she was able to pull into her lungs before plunging down. They must’ve swam miles down, almost reaching the sand carpet at the sea floor.

The fishing boat stopped just meters away from where they’d been, and Delphin cautiously guided Mai back up to the surface to breath. They surfaced just in time to hear the screams. Agonized, terrified, literal bloody-murder screams emenating from the fisherman’s television set and the man himself. Mai bit her lip to stop herself from joining the eerie chorus. It wouldn’t do to be caught up in his net now.

Delphin took her in his arms, rocking her sobbing form back and forth. He had always been a big brother to her, much better than the one she had. At last, Mai regained the ability to speak, and said softly, “I have to go.”

The girl too afraid to watch, but knowing her dear father long enough to knnow exactly how it all would end; holds back her short breaths as her eyes slam shut. She was afraid, yes; but not for herself. Safire was fearful of her father being hurt. Was that a bad thing? Was she that horrible, to wish for someone to live that would take innocent lives away every day of his life? Conflicted and challenged her conscience battles over both sides of the argument. Nobody could hurt him anyway… They were both very young however Chimere was strong. Stronger than any individual out there. And the daughter was fully convinced of that truth. No one would be able to take him alone. The magics’ would build an army; then, could they destroy him.

A nose is pressed against her back and slides forward rubbing against her shoulder. The lion nuzzles Safi attempting to comfort her. The dusty mane sways in the wind and the massive body lowers to a sitting position beside her. Lakota’s eyes search for any sign of happiness… “Safi…” but that is all he can say, for what could fix such a shattered heart? It was not his place to assure everything would be all right, that would be a lie. He lightly smiles as her arms wrap around his thick burly neck; tenderly stroking his brown pelt. Tears from her eyes meshed into his fur, however in a few minutes she was to her feet. “Lakota, Tell me when he comes back; I’m going to fix dinner and you know I can’t cook with you in the way. Change or stay out here, ok?”

Lakota sighs, he disliked shifting into the smaller form… “I’ll stay out here, but if you need me I’m an earshot away.”

Danger. One of Catcher’s favorite things. He was always getting himself immersed in it. Intentionally of course. Risk taking was a hobby to him. Not knowing his true identity, he felt like he had to prove something to himself. That he wasn’t worthless. That there was a reason he was alone in this world, not that he simply had not been good enough for his parents. Now, you would think after 360 some-odd years he would have gotten over this sense of abandonment, and he had, in a way. It was not so much the fact that his parents had left him, but the raw truth that he had no idea who they were, what they did. He didn’t know who he was. They didn’t leave him anything. Not even a name.

This explained the pure arrogance he had as he walked down the streets of Manhattan. Although his head was throbbing slightly, the news about the president had spread like wildfire, and he could overhear the panicked citizens cries about the ‘incident’ which pleased him. Deciding he wanted to be in the center of the chaos, and, of course, the danger, Catcher began thinking about flying to D.C. Plane tickets were steep… but he thought he could manag— He cut his own thought off. Fly…. that’s it! Fly to D.C! As a griffin! The human public already knew about magic now…. why not? He could fly high, to avoid being seen to clearly. It would be twice as fast and cheap. Well, free. Swerving into one of New York’s many alley ways, Catcher glanced around, raking his hand through his hair. He leaned gently against a dumpster, and closed his eyes to concentrate.

Turning into a Griffin after being in a human body for so long proved difficult. The longer he remained human, the more challenging it was. Catcher was not a human who could turn into a griffin, but a griffin who could turn into a human. Nonetheless if he resided in one of the two structures for a considerable amount of time, he would loose his ability to shift. He had not made a transformation for a while, so a consolidation of effort was necessary. Picturing himself as a griffin, standing in that alley, Catcher began to shake from the strain.

The young supernatural was rewarded, by opening his glistening eyes to see black taloned feet on the asphalt in front of him. He shook out his black wings, and they shimmered with gold as they caught the light. Catcher had a head that was covered in identical black feathers. He had sharp eyes and a razor beak. As his body stretched back, the feathers became dotted and disappeared to make way for a coarse golden coat. Muscles ripples underneath the pelt. Long powerful legs were tipped with massive paws that sheathed and unsheathed in the bliss of being this creature again. Spreading his 7 foot long wings, Catcher, for the first time in a long time, took to the skies.

As Rush watched this scene unfold horror flitted across her face and turned her vision red with anger and disgust. She got to her feet quickly surveying the scene before turning it off and starting for the door. She stepped out and closed the door before stopping and listening and going back inside.

Rush remerged tugging on a worn jean jacket shoving her hands in the pockets making sure her keys were still there so she wouldn’t have to go through a window again. She started down the street quickly and with the mission to get there fast. Her long strides carried her faster then most of the humans that were out. She truly wondered what would happen now. The secret was out, people were going to die. The last thought struck her and brought the sly smile across her face.

Her nature was something that was unique all in it’s own self. Sometimes she was the most nurturing person in the world, others she would try to harm you in any way possible. It seemed as if the Black dog in her was constantly at war with her human nature to help, but it was all still a mystery to her. Just like everything else that was going on in this crazy world around her at the time.

As all of this was going on, Honoree was being chased around a random back yard by three little kids, two boys witch she assumed were about 5 and a little girl around the age of 3. Honoree was in her fox form, running around as the children chased her. They wanted to catch the ‘kitty’ so they could ask their father and mother if they could keep it.
Normally, Hana wouldn’t put up with this, but she was listening in on the news program the children’s parents were currently watching. She could only catch some parts of it, as she had to refocus on the children when one of them got too close to her tail for her liking. It sounded as if some kind of dark magic had shown up when the president was giving a speach. She knew it was most likely the old magic, but she also knew that today would be her last day here in Maine, because she was certain that curiosity would drag her to DC.
Once Honoree got the information she wanted, she stupidly slowed to a walk to catch her breath, and it took mere seconds for one of the boys to grab her by the tail and hand her to the little girl. Hana squirmed and squirmed as the little girl held her. She had an amazing grip for someone so little, she was practically crushing Hana’s rib cage. The fox stopped squirming and let the children take her into the house.
Just as predicted, by Hana the children ran up to their mother and father whos faces where pale white and whos eyes were locked onto the television screen. “Mummy can we keep her?” The little girl asked. The three, over mutual decision figured that the girl should ask because she was the cutest and their parents had a harder time refusing their youngest child.
The children’s mother turned her head just slightly before she shreeked and ushered the children back outside. “No no no,” She repeated. “We can not keep a fox in the house, especially one that small, its mother is probably going insane looking for it. Now you go outside and put that thing back in the bushes then come wash you hands and go to your rooms.”
Their father soon stepped in, putting his hands on his wife’s shoulders. “Yes you all know better than to bring a stray animal into the house. Go lie on your beds and cool off. you’re all sweating like pigs.”
As soon as Hana was back in the bushes she booked it towards the other side of town where her appartment was. Honoree had completely forgotten why she was even on that side of town, and shifted back into human form before she got too close to her apartment building. She sighed and pushed her deep red hair back behind her ears and walked inside and up four flights of stairs to her apartment. She quickly and quietly grabbed the essentials and left three months worth of rent on the counter. She left the apartment and locked the door behind her, heading towards the bus station. It was a three hour drive to the airport in boston, so she had time to search for a flight to DC on her phone.

Chimere smirked as he watched the chaos for a bit, his magical shield still protecting himself before he finally got bored. With that he waved a hand in front of him and uttered a quick spell before he disappeared into thin air.

Ryou’s eyes were wide when he finally made it to his destination. Chimere had left his wyvern to run free and it was currently amusing itself with frightening the already terrified citizens. Of course, the creature had already had it’s fill and likely wouldn’t kill any of them… But they didn’t know that.

He narrowed his eyes, sighing as he backed up a bit, looking around before slipping off into an alleyway nearby. He clenched his fists, looking to Shasa who was still on his shoulder, “we need to lure it away before it hurts someone.”

Shasa nodded, “agreed old friend…” with that Shasa hopped off his shoulder, already beginning to shift, body becoming larger. Her fur changed, becoming more brown, ears getting larger with tiffs of fur spouting from the tips. Soon enough she stood there, no longer a housecat but a lynx.

Ryou gave her a bit of a smile, nodding as he brought his arms out to either side of his body, hands glowing. The glow spread put from his fingertips, flowing down his arms and over his entire body as he slowly grew taller.

When the glowing finally dimmed he’d become an elf with long white hair, tied in a ponytail wearing very strange armor, at least strange to normal humans. This, however, was not his true form… But he feared using his true form in this situation.

“Tana, we are going there. Now.” The girl grabbed the horse by its mane and lead it out of the stable. The horse threw back its head, its hair slipping from the woman’s grass. “Vivian, think about this. Are we really going to be able to get all the way to D.C. in time for anything? We live nearly a thousand miles away!” The girl stopped walking and turned to look at the horse.

“Viv… No. No no no I know that look. We are not going to—”

“Oh yes we are.” The woman cut off her horse. “It is time to change.” She put a hand on the horse, on his shoulder, and slowly, from the tips of her fingers, her hand slowly turned int a grey color. The grey traveled up her arm, going to her elbow, then fading into her regular skin tone. Her hair sparked up like a silver fire, and it gained a few natural looking waves. The horse nodded, and took a breath.

Its tan fur began to loose color, slowly becoming white. Two large wings soon protruded from the animal’s shoulders as it took its real form. A cape appeared from nothing upon the enchanted creature’s back, and Viv took it in her hands, and dr.aped it over her shoulders. She took the hood, put it over her head, and jumped, mounting the pegasus without a saddle.

Without a word exchanged between the two, the winged horse pumped its mighty wings, and shot into the air. The woman chanted a few silent words, and they dissapeared, leaving behind a very confused horse in a nearly empty stable, along with a television switching to a screen of commercials as they finally managed to move off of the gruesome scene.

Withen three minutes, they arrived above a cloud in Washington D.C. The woman chanted another few words, casting a spell to make them invisable to the human eye, although other magical creatures would still be able to spot them. She often used this incantation to protect herself, along with find others like her. She directed the pegasus to land, and it did, its hooves not making a sound as they touched the ground. She heard the screams, and knew this must be where the incadent had happened.

She suddenly was hit with an awareness that she was not alone. She turned to her right and saw a lynx, along side an elf. “Hail stranger.” She said using words of the old times of which she had been raised, the strange way of speaking always being used when in her magical form. “There be not time for formalities, so I shall cut to the chase, so to speak. you and I both know we need to get the wyvern away from the public before a few morons trying to be heros make it angry. I suggest we work together on this. Agreed?” The woman dismounted the large flying horse, and stood on her own two feet, looking upon the one before her with eyes of determination, hope, and oddly enough, a strange tinge of serenity.
