Oen had been shocked by that little hand squeeze. Behind the safety of her helmet, she smiled and wrapped her arms around him just a little tighter. So she wouldn't fall off. Not because it ...felt nice. Or anything. She rested her head on his shoulder as they took off, closing her eyes. The speed felt good, the way wind whipped past them was comforting. The roar of the motor and the helmets kept them from talking, and this kind of silence was so soothing when shared.
She was surprised when they pulled up to her apartment. That had been much quicker than she'd expected. Sitting up, Oen waited for her to catch her equilibrium. She loosened her grip on Wufei's waist, her embrace a little loose. Even when she slipped off the bike, one arm stayed around him until her legs felt solid beneath her.
She kicked up the welcome mat in front of the comic book store to reveal the key she had hidden there. Unlocking the door, she let him follow. Flipping up the visor, she opted to keep her helmet on, just in case her roomie was home. "I own the store."
Entering, she locked the door behind them and led him to a door behind the counter. She unlocked that as well and headed up the stairs. "Danneh?" Once more, she donned her accent. "Ya 'ome?"
No response. Whew.
"Danneh?"
Better double check.
Nope.
Oen slipped off the helmet and tucked it underneath her arm. She would have to pack light, but that was fine. Just some basics. She could make another stop back if need be. She headed into a back room, rifling through her drawers and pulling out basic black clothes. Removing false drawer bottoms, she packed girl underwear and bras. All of her movements were efficient and quick, and she wasn't ashamed of Wufei seeing her undies. (Even the slightly sexy ones. What? She was still female. And she'd always worried that one day, she might just get one of those missions where she had to seduce someone. Sure, it never happened, but it didn't hurt to be prepared.)
She took her laptop computer, two flash drives, and she also grabbed five comic books that had been lying casually on her bed. Slipping all of these into a backpack, she exited the room, tugging on Wufei's ponytail as she passed him.
