What happens when a group of teens from the same school with nothing in common all start to develop strange abilities. What happens when they start getting dragged into another world each night to help save it from the forces of darkness and find out that they each share their ability with a very special partner. How will they deal with school and their lives in their world as well as their secret lives in this new world of magic? What happens when they start getting called to the other world during the day as well?

Tanner sighed and groaned slightly, blinking open his eyes as he shifts from his small single bed, slipping off the thin blanket and sitting up. He wipes the sleep from his eyes before standing up and starting to get dressed for school.
"Another day in paradise..." the teen snorts sarcasticly once he's ready and heads downstairs to grab himself a quick slice of toast for breakfast and a sandwich and apple for lunch.
Tanner was a foster child, orphaned when he was seven and passed around from foster home to foster home since as they tried to find him a permanent family. The teen was somewhat antisocial and skittish, quiet and solumn making it hard to find a couple willing to take him. By now he was pretty much too old for anyone to bother adopting. If he did get adopted now it would be a miracle.
The teen was use to it though and just continued on. He never got attached to the families he was sent to, always ready for the next move when the current family got tired of him.
The one he was with right now pretty much ignored him. They had a son a year older then Tanner who liked to torment him and tease him but he pretty much ignored him. The parents were in it for the money, leaving the boy to fend for himself.
Tanner soon headed out of the house, closing the door behind him and heading down the street towards the school. It was a good forty five minute walk but there were no buses for students living in the city and his foster family wouldn't drive him or give him money for the bus.
