The Princess And The Minion (VERY OLD RP)

~*The Outline*~

This story revolves around the princess of a country known as Illisthia and a mysterious ranger...

For those who don’t know, Rangers are people who protect nature and the beasts whom live peacefully in it... they live off the land and sleep under the stars... they can use a lot of different weapons but since they need to hunt for their food the bow is one of the most common…

This particular ranger is very kind but a bit of a loner, mainly because people don't trust rangers... they say they’re thieves... So he lives alone in the forest by the city where the princess lives with her father, the king...

The king of this country, and the princess’ father, is a real tyrant and over taxes people and throws those who can't pay into the dungeon... Unfortunately for the king... someone has been attacking the nobles of the city and stealing from them and has even gotten into the castle a few times and stolen... This person calls himself the Black Angel, leaving a mark of BA behind at every attack... This black-cloaked figure actually turns out to be our beloved ranger...

The princess, of course, doesn't like how her father works so when the Dark Angel gets himself captured by the guards she helps him... by this time, however, she's already fallen for the ranger...

This ranger, however is not the first Dark Angel... the king's head guard was before they found out... that was a few years back... he was executed for his deeds of course... what the king didn't know was that this soldier had taken in a boy he'd found injured in the forest... that's our ranger...

The knight taught him how to live and kept him a secret specifically after seeing a pendent the boy had with him... The ranger took over as Dark Angel after his mentor was killed partly out of revenge and partly to save the people.

At one point the king hires a band of hero's to fight for him and to find and stop the Dark Angel. Little does the king know that the leader of this band of hero's is Dark Angel himself. What a perfect way to stay out of harms way... keep your friends close... and your enemies closer...

The pendant the boy had with him he'd gotten from his mother who lived on a farm... he'd left because his parents barely made enough food and money to care for themselves... he left at the age of ten...

The pendant... however... didn't belong to the farm woman but to a Queen... the boy's real mother... now dead along with his father, two older brothers and his older sister... a maid in the castle was able to get the young prince out of there and brought him to the farm. Those that lived there took him in keeping his secret. This particular country the young prince was from was a rival nation to be exact which is why his secret needed to be kept…

The princess soon finds out about the ranger being Dark Angel because he says something that she'd told him many times before... she'd always told him not to bow down to anyone because he was worth more then that... Dark Angel is captured at one point and injured and the guards try to get him to bow and that's what he says... revealing himself to the princess in the process...

The princess and the ranger later get married and keep it a secret. Of course... When the king finds out that his daughter married some poor vagabond he has her followed... she goes to her new husband’s house in the woods and leads the guards right to him. They wait till she's gone then kill him under the king’s orders...

That is not the end, however as a long time ago in these lands there was a legend... It foretold of the one of royal blood who, upon his death would become the light in the darkness, the darkness in the light. The protector and the destroyer. Called from Heaven, Created by hell… he was the evil in the light… the purity in the darkness… It was said that when the world became corrupt he would be sent… his job would be to punish the corrupt and protect the innocent… send the evil to hell and save the good… It also explained that he would choose himself a bride of royal blood one day and she would forever belong to him…

When the ranger was brought to judgment and the lords of heaven and hell learnt of what had happened to him, they decided… he was the one. For half a year he was trained by the lord of heaven, taught in the ways of honor and justice, learning everything there was to know of the world he would be returning to… for the next half year he was sent to hell to train with the lord there… taught to withhold his feelings and to fight… and to kill… In hell is where he was given his true power and the lord of heaven blessed him and returned him to the real world…

Upon his return he was given five animal companions, Phantom the black panther, Armageddon the black dragon, Chaos the black wolf, Apocalypse the black stallion, and Demon the black hawk… And he was appropriately dubbed… Minion.

The five animal turn out to be the other hero's that the king had summoned to fight for him. All of them having been given the choice and turned into these beasts to aid their companion. When the task is done... they will be given the ability to shift from beast to human... but for now they are trapped.

From here the black figure traveled with his companion in search for the princess he’d lost…

There is a Princess (17) who falls in love with a poor boy (18) who lives near the castle. The boy avoids her all the time knowing that they could never be together though his heart longs for her. The Princess always watched the guy she loved in secret wondering why he always ran away from her. Her father soon finds out that she is in love with a peasant, though doesn't know which one, and decides to find her a royal suitor. He doesn't want his daughter with a peasant because they would only really be in it for the place in high society.

When strange things start to happen in the kingdom a group of mysterious warriors arise to protect the kingdom. These warriors were hired by the Princess' father. The warriors are hidden by their clothing. They each have a cloak, a tight body suit, gloves and boots that hide their features from the world. They each have a distinct fighting style all their own and a weapon as well.

The leader of this group is a man who dresses in black and has a sword for a weapon and fights with honor. The Princess later follows this man feeling a sort of connection to him and finds out that he is the guy that she had fallen in love with.

Princess Harmony Grace Emerson looks around the corner of the building at her father. "Please don't see me, Please don't see me," she mumbles to herself. She then notices a guy who looks about her age near a cart which is selling bread. The guy slowly walks past the cart slipping bread into his pocket while the cart owner is busy with a customer. The cart owner looks at him and he smiles. The cart owner smiles back then turns his back to get bread for the customer. The guy then slips more bread into his pocket and walks off. Harmony follows the guy around a building into an alleyway. She taps him on the shoulder gently, "I think that is considered stealing," she says with a smile.

"It's actually considered borrowing because I will pay them back... when I get rich... Like that'll ever happen," he sighs as he walks away from her further into the alleyway.

"One second," she says as she turns around running back into the busy streets and placing coins onto the bread cart in front of the owner. She walks back into the alleyway and smiles at him. "Enjoy your bread," she says bowing her head slightly and turning to walk away.

"Huh? What was that for?" he asks staring at her.

"Nothing," she answers.

He smiles, "Riku thanks you as do I."

She smiles at him and says, "It was my pleasure."

A dog walks over suddenly and sits next to the guy. The guy kneels down taking some bread out and feeding it to the dog, "There you go. Eat up old girl." He then turns to the girl, "This is Riku."

"She's adorable," Harmony says with a smile, "is she yours?"

"Not really... She's her own master... We just meet up every once and a while and sort of... take care of each other," he says petting the dog gently.

"Don't you have parents that take care of you?" Harmony asks bending down and petting the dog. The dog begins to lick her face and she begins to giggle.

"My parents could barely take care of themselves on the money they got from their farm... so I left in hopes that they would be better off," he says.

"Don't you miss them?" she asks standing up.

"I left when I was ten... I can't even remember them," he says.

"I'm sorry, it was out of place for me to ask you such a personal question, you don't even know me,"

"Don't worry about it... It doesn't matter anymore... It's all in the past," he says standing up.

"Regardless of whether it is in the past or not it was still a very personal question. It was rude of me to ask," She says looking at the dog again. "Would you mind showing me around? I don't get out much," she explains.

"I suppose," he says looking at her curiously.

She smiles, "if you are not busy that is."

He smiles a bit, "come on."

He takes her hand and leads her out into the busy market.

She quickly puts her hood on, "where are we going?" she asks looking back slightly as they pass the carriage.

"Well... If you haven't seen the city then I'm sure you haven't seen the woods," he says as they turn a corner quickly. The old dog runs up to them following close behind.

"No I haven't," she says, "but why would I want to see the woods? Isn't it dark and cold?" she asks.

"Who would tell you a thing like that?" he asks as he leads her out of town finally. The old dog stops there and sits on the ground not wanting to continue on.

"My father," she says quietly.

He gives her a strange look then keeps going, "The woods are a wonderful place. It may be that I've just lived there too long, but I find it beautiful."

"Where else is there to see?" she asks," I mean after I see the woods."

"Trust me... Once you see it you won't care," he says as they near the woods which seem dark and lonely to the young Princess.

"I already don't care," she says looking at the back of the guy. She looks towards the woods and pauses.

He turns and smiles at her shaking his head, "Looks can be deceiving." He then continues to walk towards the forest in front of them.

She blinks then runs up taking his hand again.

They soon make it into the woods. The sounds of wild animals and the wind can be heard. A pair of glowing yellow eyes pear through the bushes at the Princess as the two walk.

She quickly moves closer to the guy bumping into him.

He chuckles a bit and shakes his head as he continues on. They soon come to a small pond where a young doe drinks happily. As they get closer the doe lifts her head quickly then gallops off. The guy puts a hand to stop her then puts his finger to his mouth to signal silence. He slowly walks towards the pond kneeling down. He looks over to the doe who is just a ways off.

She stands there wrapping her arms around herself looking around cautiously.

The doe watches the young man curiously before walking over and nuzzling him gently. He puts his hand on her nose and rubs it gently. He then motions for the girl to come over.

She hesitates and stands there.

He looks over to her and smiles before standing and slowly walking over to her with the doe by his side.

She stands there taking an apple out of the pocket in her cloak quietly. She bends down slowly and places it on the ground. Then she stands back up.

He shakes his head and picks up the apple and places it back in her hand then puts her hand over to the doe. She stands there barely holding onto the apple. The doe walks closer and lowers its head nibbling at the apple. She looks over at him and smiles trying to hide her nervousness.

"There's nothing to be afraid of," he says in a soothing voice placing his hand on the doe's neck and gently running it down the creatures back.

She smiles and then the doe slowly makes its way back into the bush after finishing the apple. She sits down near the pond and takes off her shoes and slowly dips her toes in the water. She smiles and then looks at her reflection in the water. He smiles and walks over standing behind her. As she watches their reflection in the clear cool water the guy’s form seems to change to that of a black figure with a long silver sword. She shakes her head and the vision seems to disappear. She takes off her cloak and places it near her shoes.

"So... What do you think?" he asks as he puts his hand in front of her face holding a small pink blossom.

"It's breath taking," she replies as she looks at him and smiles smelling the small flower.

"It's peaceful here... Not many people come here because of the tales of the beast of the woods," he says.

"Beast?" she asks taking her feet out of the water and looking at him, "what beast?"

"Just an old wives tale... trust me... I've lived in these woods since I was ten and have never met up with this beast they all fear," he says kind-heartedly.

She smiles slightly and places her feet back in the water.

"I have to pick something up at camp... want to join me?" he asks.

She quickly jumps up and puts her shoes back on, "You wouldn't leave me here would you?" she asks taking his hand.

"Of course not... If you don't want to go then I can wait," he says.

"No, it's ok, I'll go with you," she says taking her cloak.

He nods and smiles as he leads the way further into the woods. They soon come to a small clearing with a small burnt out campfire. She looks around but sees nothing else around. She then sees him jump into a nearby tree and jump back down with a bow and quiver of arrows, "There we go."

"Why do we need those?" she asks.

"Out here we need to fend for ourselves... That includes hunting for food," he says.

Her face all of a sudden turns green, "you mean you have to kill animals yourself," she says.

"Yes... If you don't have the money to buy the meat that someone else killed then you have to kill the meat yourself," he says calmly.

"I think i'm going to be sick," she says turning around.

He smiles, "Don't worry... I won't use them with you here."

"Could you maybe teach me?" she asks.

"Are you sure your stomach can handle it?" he asks.

"I don't want to kill anything, I can use a target that doesn't breath," she says.

He smiles, "Ok then... come on." he says as he motions towards a small path behind the campsite.

She follows him as he leads the way through the path, "Are you sure you don't mind?"

"Why would I mind?" he asks as he stops and places his hand on a tree closing his eyes.

She smiles and walks ahead of him making sure not to get too far ahead.

He takes his hand off the tree and continues to walk stopping at another tree and placing his hand on it, "This one."

She stops and hangs her cloak on a tree branch, "Where do you want me to stand?"

"Over there by the other tree," he says then nods to the tree.

She gives him an odd look, "What exactly do I do?"

"Take the bow and an arrow and fire at the tree," he smirks.

"But you have the bow and arrows," she says smirking back.

"Give me a sec and I'll give em to you," he says before making an odd sound that echoes through the woods. The sound of birds can be heard flying away.

She looks up as a flock of birds fly above her. She looks at him then smiles walking over to him. He passes her the bow and arrows then takes one last look around before backing to the tree he'd told her to fire from.

She goes back to the tree and stands there trying to figure out how to hold the bow. Then she takes an arrow and places it on the bow and she pulls back closing her eyes. She lets go and the bow hits a large rock and break in half.

"You might want to keep your eyes open next time... It helps with aiming," he says, "Now... When you aim, watch the end of the arrow and align the very tip with the centre of your target. Try not to pull too much because the target is pretty close."

"I don't even know how to hold this," she says fiddling with the bow and her second arrow, "it's no use, i'm never going to learn."

"Don't think about it... Just do it... Think of the bow as an extension of your arm... Hold it with both hands... Like this," he says moving her hand slightly on the bow.

"I'll try," she says, "but what if I hurt someone? Like you,"

"I'm the only one around that you could possibly hit... and no ones ever been able to hit me yet," he says.

"Ok," she says pulling back on the bowstring and arrow. She closes one of her eyes and keeps the other on the tree ahead of her.

"Not too much remember... Your target is only a few metres away," he says.

She nods and lets go. The arrow nicks the tree and bounces off of it flying back towards the guy low to the ground. Harmony closes her eyes as the guy quickly spreads his legs and the arrow flies through hitting a tree stump behind him. Harmony blushes and covers her face.

"Closest yet... but not quite," he smirks.

Harmony chuckles a bit embarrassed.

"Here... Let me show you something," he says walking up to her.

"Here you go," she says giving him the bow and arrows and sitting on the ground.

He smiles as he puts the quiver on his back and picks up a rock turning it around in his fingers. She looks at him wondering what he is doing. He then throws the rock into the air with as much force as he could muster up. He quickly pulls an arrow out of the quiver and knotchs it. He quickly aims it at the sky and fires. All this happens in a matter of seconds and the arrow flies through the air hitting the rock, as it plummets to the earth,
causing a spark that lights up the sky. She smiles watching him.

He turns back to her, "It's getting pretty late... You probably need to get back home."

"Yes actually I should be getting back home," she says taking her cloak from the tree branch and smiling, "I wouldn't want to get in your way anymore then I already have."

"You're not in the way... It's nice to have company," he says, "come on... I'll walk you home."

"It's ok you don't have to," she says.

"Don't have to but want to," he says smiling and walking back the way they'd come.

"I can walk from here," she says as they get to a large road overlooking the kingdom.

"It's ok... It gets pretty bad out here at night," he says.

"My house isn't very far, i'll be ok," she says.

"I insist," he says.

"You've done so much already, i'll be fine really, my house is only a couple minutes away," she says.

"Very well," he nods and turns to walk away, "Bye."

"I just realized I do not know your name," she says with a smile.

"Aleron," he says calmly turning back to look at her, "and you would be?"

"Harmony," she says with a smile.

"You have a beautiful name," he says.

"Thank you," she says, " Well Aleron, I must be going, Goodnight," she says slowly leaning forward and kissing him on the lips then turning around and walking further up the road.

Aleron blinks as he watches her go and puts his hands behind his neck.

The strange, dark man continues to ride towards the castle with her sleeping behind him and his animal friends following closely behind.

“No Aleron don't leave me...” Harmony mumbles in her sleep.

The dark man turns his head slightly and look back at Harmony then sadly turns back to face the trail ahead.

“I think she's in a dream,” Phantom says.

“I think she's in a nightmare,” Demon argues.

“Whatever she’s having we know one thing for sure, Aleron has something to do with it,” Chaos says looking up at the mysterious rider.

“Ya think?” Armagedon says sarcastically as he hovers above them.

A grey female wolf runs up and nuzzles Chaos.

“Oh great it’s back,” Demon says.

“Aww lay off,” Chaos complains running into a bush, the female wolf following closely behind.

“Aleron no... Come back... don’t leave me,” Harmony mumbles her hands slipping out from around the strangers waist.

“Poor thing,” Phantom says sadly licking her hand.

Harmony yawns and opens her eyes slowly. She looks around and smiles placing her arms back around the stranger’s waist.

“Good morning,” The stranger says, his tone deeper then her husbands.

“It’s not quite morning,” she says gazing up at the dark sky, which oddly reminds her of him every time she looks at it.

“Close enough,” he mumbles back.

“I suppose,” she says leaning her head on his shoulder and closing her eyes again. She opens her eyes and looks up at the back of his head. She smiles and gently takes the hat from his head and places it on her own.

The stranger smiles though she cannot see it.

She begins to hum a tune quietly getting gradually louder and louder. “Water...” she says jumping off the horse as she notices a small stream.

The stranger turns the horse towards the stream.

Harmony cups her hands together and dips her hands into the stream scooping up water. She takes a sip and splashes the rest on her face. She stands up and wipes her face slightly with the back of her hand. She walks over to an apple tree and reaches high plucking two apples from a branch. “Catch,” she says as she tosses an apple over to the stranger. She smiles at him and takes a seat under the apple tree taking a bite of her apple.

The stranger looks further down the path then gets down of his horse walking over to the stream. He bends down and watches the ripples in the water. “Get behind a bush,” he says looking over at Harmony.

“Why?” Harmony asks standing up.

“Riders are coming this way,” he answers taking the reins of his horse and leading the horse further into the forest. The other animals run off in different directions.

Harmony looks around then walks behind a bush and bends down. Harmony jumps as she feels a hand on her shoulder. She turns to see the stranger kneeling behind her.

The stranger places one finger in front of his mouth signaling Harmony to remain quiet.

Harmony nods and turns towards the path to see several white imperial horses and guards ride up. They stop in front of the stream and get off their horses. The horses then begins to drink from the stream. The guards see an apple under the tree which seems to have been bitten and they begin to look around the surrounding area.

“What do we do?” Harmony whispers looking up at the stranger who is still kneeling behind her.

The stranger picks up a rock and glances towards the men. He then shoots the rock at a horse hitting it’s back side. The horse rears up and thunders down the trail. The soldiers look then runs back to the horses still drinking at the stream. The soldiers jump on the horses and chase after the stray horse.

Harmony looks up at the stranger and smiles slightly as she stands back up, “That was close.”

“Hardly,” the stranger replies.

Harmony looks at him and smiles, "Maybe we should get going before they come back.”

The stranger nods and snaps his fingers. His horse then runs out from some bushes and stops in front of them.

The stranger quickly mounts the horse and extends his hand down towards her. She takes his hand and he helps her up onto the horse. She once again wraps her arms around his waist and the horse continues down the trail towards the palace. The animals soon catch up to the two and follow.

"Where are we going?" Harmony asks as she sees her palace in the distance.

"You’ll soon see," the stranger answers.

"No," Harmony says as they continue towards the palace. She jumps off the horse and starts heading back down the path.

"You won’t get far, the guards will find you," The stranger says.

"Is that a threat?" Harmony asks looking back at him.

"No, a warning," he replies calmly.

"I trusted you, how could you do this to me?" Harmony asks tears forming in her eyes as she glances up at the palace.

"I am only fulfilling my duty," he answers, "and if it leads me here then so be it."

"Not here, anywhere but here," Harmony mumbles holding her wedding ring on her necklace and stares at the ground. The tears begin to flow gently down her cheek and fall to the dusty path beneath her feet.

"You are safe with us," The stranger says.

"It's not that," Harmony says still looking at the ground.

" He would not want you to be sad," The stranger says looking out at the horizon.

"How did you..." Harmony says looking up surprised.

"Your life certainly is not a secret princess," The stranger says.

"How did you know he was..." Harmony says still looking at him.

"Let us just say I was there," He answers.

"I can't go in there," Harmony says, "it's been a year since his death but the wounds haven't healed and I don't think they ever will."

"It may hurt but you must go on with your life," The stranger says.

"I don't know how to go on with my life, Aleron was my life," Harmony replies looking down at the ground again.

"Then perhaps it is time to confront the individual who destroyed your life," the stranger says.

"Will you be there?" Harmony asks looking at him.

The stranger nods.

"Maybe I’ll find a new life in the process," Harmony says looking towards the palace gate.

"Perhaps," The stranger agrees quietly.

"Then again she could always find the one that left her behind," Phantom says looking up at the stranger.

"Promise me something?" Harmony asks.

"Of course," The stranger says.

"Promise me we'll both live through this," Harmony says.

The stranger nods again and extends his hand out to her.

She nods and takes his hand and he helps her back onto the horse.

Soon they reach the entrance to the palace. "It's so quiet," Harmony says getting off the horse and walking up to the palace. Harmony opens the door to the palace only to have swords at her throat.

"Princess?!" one of the guards yells dropping his sword, " I'm so sorry." The guard quickly moves out of her way.

"Where is my father?" Harmony asks the guard sternly.

"He's not here," the guard says looking at the stranger standing behind the princess.

"Where is he?" Harmony asks.

"On official business your majesty," the guard says bowing slightly.

"This way," Harmony says looking at the stranger. "We'll wait for him to return."

The stranger nods and follows Harmony up the stairs. The guards watch oddly as they walk out of sight.

"What would you like to do while we wait?" Harmony asks.

The stranger stays silent.

"What's your name?" Harmony asks walking into a room.

"Minion," he says looking away from her.

The princess stays quiet and sits down in a chair in the room. "Why are you helping me? And how do you know me?" she asks a couple minutes later.

"I have my reasons and my resources," he answers.

"Tell me please," Harmony says.

"I can't," he says as he walks to the balcony and looks out into the kingdom.

"Why can't you tell me?" she asks following him out to the balcony.

"It's not time," he replies.

"When will it be time?" Harmony asks.

"Soon," the stranger answers.

"Do you think he knows how much I still love him? And how much I wish he was here?" Harmony asks.

The stranger nods again.

"There's my father's carriage," Harmony says walking back into the room and towards the door.

"Shall we go down to greet him?" the stranger asks.

"Yes we shall," Harmony answers.

The stranger nods and follows Harmony back down stairs and into the thrown room where the king is sitting.

The king goes wide-eyed as he sees his daughter walk into the room. "Harmony?" the king says standing up.

"Don't Harmony me you asshole," she growls walking up inches from her father.

"Harmony, is something wrong?" the king asks.

Harmony narrows her eyes, "You murdered my husband and you're asking me if something is wrong... how do you sleep at night knowing you hurt innocent people?"

"I sleep quite well actually," Her father answers.

"I hate you," Harmony mumbles.

"What sweetheart? I couldn't hear you, speak up," the king says.

" I said I hate you," Harmony says glaring at her father, "and I swear to god you will pay for how you hurt me and everyone else."

"You're threatening me? You don't have the guts," Her father says turning his back on his daughter.

Harmony screams as she attacks her father knocking him down. Two guards grab her lifting her off the king.

"You are nothing but a whore," the king says as he gets off the floor and looks over at the stranger who had walked in the room with his daughter, "it would kill Aleron to see how unfaithful you are."

The king turns around to see the stranger behind him suddenly. The stranger quickly puts his sword to the king's neck, "Would you like to call the princess a whore again?"

"You..." the king says, "what are you?"

"I'm the reason mothers tell their children not to wander too far from home," the stranger answers.

"You're..." the king studders.

"He's who?" Harmony asks looking at the stranger curiously. "What's he talking about Minion?"

"I am the light in the darkness, the darkness in the light. The protector and the destroyer. Called from Heaven, Created by hell. I am the evil in the light," The stranger answers.

"What?" Harmony asks confused. She walks up to Minion, "What are you talking about? Who are you?"

"So the legends are true, you do exist," The king says with a gulp watching the sword at his throat closely.

"Yes," Minion says taking the sword away from the king's throat.

"Legend? What legend?" Harmony asks.

"So you came for my daughter. My daughter is the woman in the legend," the king says, "Well she is all yours, she belongs to you," the king says looking at Minion.

"What?" Harmony says looking at her father.

"Harmony belongs to you as the legend says," The king says.

"What? I don't belong to either of you! I don't care what a stupid legend says I belong to Aleron!" Harmony says falling to her knees crying.

Minion smiles gently kneeling by her side, "You need not worry... I will leave you be princess... If that is what you wish. Legend may say we belong together… But if your heart does not then we do not." He then stands up and turns, walking towards the door, “I suggest you change your ways your majesty… Or you may just see me again.”
